Speaking about the project’s inception, Noizumi stated, “When we started this project, we made a commitment to take this very personal story set in Edo-period Japan and bring it to life in the most authentic and beautiful way possible.” The co-creator expressed gratitude to the collaborative efforts of animators, historians, musicians, martial artists, and the voice cast, emphasizing the project’s realization surpassed their expectations.

Acknowledging the fervor of viewers worldwide, Noizumi extended gratitude to the dedicated team and the passionate global audience who embraced the story of Mizu and her quest for revenge. He noted, “We are thankful to our entire team and to our viewers from all over the world who have shown such passion for Mizu and her path of revenge.”

Hinting at what lies ahead, Noizumi shared, “Mizu has a lot more blood to spill! We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners at Netflix for letting the journey continue.” The co-creator’s words suggest that the second season will deliver more intense and captivating moments as Mizu’s journey unfolds.

Set against the rich tapestry of Edo-period Japan, ‘Blue Eye Samurai’ follows the story of Mizu, voiced by Maya Erskine, as she seeks vengeance with her sword.
