Pedro Pascal is showing off his humor once again — this time at the expense of his Materialists co-star and longtime friend, Dakota Johnson.
While promoting their upcoming romantic comedy Materialists, where Pascal stars alongside Johnson and Chris Evans, the trio made an appearance on LADbible’s quirky game segment Weirdest Would You Rather. During the lighthearted exchange, the conversation took a hilarious turn when Pascal opened up about an injury he sustained while filming Gladiator II.
In response to a playful question from Johnson — “What’s the movie I told you to do?” — Pascal replied with mock indignation, “Gladiator 2. And I tore my psoas. My shoulder popped out and I’ve never been the same.”

The Last of Us actor didn’t hold back in teasing Johnson, joking, “Wow. What a good friend. Sent me to die. You said ‘you go die.’”
Pascal portrays Marcus Acacius in Ridley Scott’s upcoming Gladiator sequel. Though the role came with physical demands, Pascal revealed in a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight that no one specifically asked him to transform physically for the role — he just chose to push himself.
“There wasn’t a single directive from the filmmakers for me to get in shape,” he shared. “But I did it anyway — mostly so I wouldn’t get hurt. And I still did. But at least I got stronger than I’ve ever been.”
The easy chemistry between Pascal and Johnson is just a taste of what fans can expect when Materialists hits theaters on June 13. With a powerhouse cast and behind-the-scenes camaraderie, the film is already generating buzz as a must-watch summer rom-com.
