Prince Harry could face significant backlash if he decides to participate in a new Netflix documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana. Speculation has surfaced that the Duke of Sussex might collaborate with Netflix, where he and Meghan Markle have a lucrative deal, to mark the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death. However, such a move may violate a long-standing agreement with his brother, Prince William, according to royal experts.
The last major tribute to Diana occurred in 2017, when both William and Harry opened up about their mother’s tragic passing on its 20th anniversary. The brothers vowed it would be the final occasion they would speak so personally about the loss. Despite recent rumors about Harry’s involvement in a new Netflix project, sources close to the Duke have denied that he is working on any such project regarding his mother.

Royal expert Russell Myers doubted the possibility of Harry participating in the documentary. Speaking on True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat, Myers said, “I can’t see this happening. Of course, there would be accusations of Harry profiting from his mother’s death. There are surely more projects in the works for him with Netflix or other platforms, but discussing his mother’s passing would be a tragic reminder of such a painful loss on a significant anniversary. I don’t think it will happen.”

It’s important to remember that William and Harry were only 15 and 12 years old when Diana passed away. Their shared grief has been well-documented over the years, but any new retelling of their mother’s story could reopen old emotional wounds, both for the brothers and the royal family as a whole.
