Prince Harry Faces Limited Security Ahead of High Court Trial in London

Prince Harry is facing a significant challenge as he prepares to return to London for his High Court trial against News Group Newspapers (NGN). The Duke of Sussex, who had previously lost his legal fight for taxpayer-funded security, will now receive limited police protection during his court appearances.

Reports from The Mirror reveal that Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has approved a temporary arrangement to provide armed officers from the Royalty and Specialist Protection Command to ensure the Duke’s safety while he is in the UK.

A source shared, “Harry will have limited police protection throughout his stay,” reflecting the reduced security status he has experienced since stepping back from his royal duties in 2020 and relocating to the United States.

This arrangement mirrors the protection granted to the Duke during King Charles III’s coronation in 2023, when the Metropolitan Police provided similar security. However, Prince Harry’s broader dispute with the Home Office over his security continues, with an appeal hearing scheduled for April to address the reduction in protective measures.

A close friend of the Duke revealed to HELLO! that the uncertainty surrounding his security arrangements has made it nearly impossible for him to bring his children to the UK, as safety concerns continue to be a significant obstacle for family visits.

As Prince Harry faces a legal battle in London, the issue of his security remains a major concern, casting a shadow over his return and ongoing legal proceedings.
