Prince Harry is stepping up his global advocacy efforts, aligning with his brother Prince William’s environmental mission while spotlighting the digital world’s growing risks.
During the NEXUS Global Summit held in New York City on June 27, Prince Harry addressed an audience of over 350 philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and impact leaders. His speech, delivered with urgency and compassion, emphasized how irresponsible use of digital technology is threatening the progress made in critical areas like climate change.

“For all the work we are collectively doing… if the digital world is not done responsibly, it’s going to turn back that progress. And we can see that with climate change,” Harry said, according to a statement from the Archewell Foundation.
Harry’s remarks came just as his elder brother, Prince William, was deeply engaged in London Climate Action Week. There, the Prince of Wales reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to environmental causes, stating that nature is the “foundation of life on Earth.” Through events hosted by the Royal Foundation and the promotion of Earthshot Prizewinners, William championed the power of nature-based solutions in ensuring global “security, stability, and prosperity.”

While William focused on environmental resilience, Harry broadened the lens to the digital ecosystem, connecting climate efforts to the wider implications of online harm. He highlighted how the couple’s non-profit, Archewell, is addressing the consequences of digital abuse—particularly for families and children.
Last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle introduced The Parents Network, a support group designed for parents who lost children to online harm. Continuing their advocacy, the couple also launched the powerful No Child Lost to Social Media exhibit in New York earlier this year, shedding light on the deadly consequences of unregulated online platforms.
During his speech at Nexus, Harry didn’t shy away from personal reflections. He called Meghan “the most trolled person in the world,” underscoring the severe mental toll that digital harassment has taken on her—and the need for meaningful solutions.
A Shared Vision, Different Platforms
Though the royal brothers may be estranged, their public appearances reveal a shared urgency for change. Whether through climate action or digital responsibility, both Prince William and Prince Harry are urging global leaders to act with compassion, strategy, and foresight.
As their efforts unfold on different continents, their messages resonate with a common truth: safeguarding the planet and its people requires not just action, but accountability—online and offline.
