As Prince Harry’s anticipated visit to the UK for the WellChild Awards approaches, royal expert Jennie Bond suggests that peace talks between the Duke of Sussex and King Charles are unlikely to take place during this trip.
Bond speculates that Harry’s visit will be brief, similar to his attendance at the King’s coronation. She emphasizes that the WellChild Awards hold significant personal importance for Harry, as he has served as a patron for 15 years and rarely misses the ceremony.
Last year, Harry had to cancel his attendance due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth, and this year’s visit coincides with the anniversary of her death, keeping him in London at that time.
However, Bond points out that King Charles will be observing the anniversary privately in Scotland, and Prince William will be leading tributes in Wales. Given these separate commitments, the prospect of private discussions during Harry’s visit appears highly unlikely, even if any of them desired such a meeting.
Prince Harry is scheduled to arrive in the UK on September 7, followed by his journey to Germany for the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf. Notably, his wife Meghan Markle will not accompany him during his UK visit, and it remains uncertain whether their children will join him for the Invictus Games in Germany.
As the Duke of Sussex’s visit draws near, speculation and anticipation surround his interactions with the royal family, but it seems that peace talks may not be on the agenda during this particular trip.
