Producer Barbara Muschietti has dismissed speculation about the cancellation of DC’s upcoming film, “The Flash,” in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. She refuted rumors that Warner Bros. had considered shelving the project due to alleged erratic behavior by Ezra Miller, who plays the lead role.

Muschietti made it clear that the rumors were unfounded, stating, “Not at all. No. That was never real.” Her statement definitively puts to rest any concerns about the film’s future and reaffirms the commitment of the production team to bring “The Flash” to audiences.

Muschietti also addressed Miller’s recovery process and expressed compassion for individuals dealing with mental health challenges. She emphasized their empathy, particularly for those struggling with mental health issues, and expressed support for Miller as they take the necessary steps towards their recovery.

In a separate interview with the Discourse podcast, director Andy Muschietti expressed confidence in Miller’s portrayal of the character and hinted at the potential for a sequel to “The Flash.” When asked about a follow-up film, Muschietti responded positively, saying, “If it happens, yes.” He praised Miller’s performance, highlighting their exceptional embodiment of the character. Muschietti also emphasized the strong connection between Miller and the role of Barry Allen, suggesting that they were a perfect fit for the character.

It is worth noting that Miller publicly apologized for their past behavior in August, expressing a commitment to seeking mental health treatment. Their proactive approach towards personal growth and dedication to their craft reflect their ongoing efforts to improve.

With Barbara Muschietti’s confirmation that rumors of “The Flash” being canceled were baseless, fans can now breathe a sigh of relief. The highly anticipated DC film is still moving forward. As production progresses and Miller continues their recovery journey, audiences can eagerly anticipate witnessing their portrayal of the beloved character when “The Flash” graces the silver screen.
