In a revelation that adds a poignant layer to his upcoming film “Animal,” Ranbir Kapoor shared that his character in the movie draws inspiration from none other than his late father, Rishi Kapoor.
The 40-year-old actor embraces the role of a merciless gangster in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming directorial venture, and during the trailer launch event in New Delhi, he shed light on how his father’s persona became a reference for the intense demeanor of the male lead.
Ranbir candidly expressed, “Whenever I’d meet Sandeep, I always told him to give me a reference. I have never heard or felt like this.” He went on to reveal that, on a subconscious level, thoughts of his father crept into his mind, stating, “It was the way he used to speak – he was a very passionate and aggressive man.”
The unveiled three-minute trailer offers a glimpse into the complex dynamics between Ranbir’s character and his father. The narrative suggests that the father figure played a pivotal role in shaping his son into a formidable and violent individual, contributing significantly to the character’s intense nature.
“Animal,” boasting an ensemble cast featuring Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bobby Deol, is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 1. The film will be presented in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, promising an engaging cinematic experience for audiences across diverse linguistic backgrounds.
