Rihanna celebrated the ninth anniversary of her groundbreaking album Anti with a special tribute that caught fans by surprise. On Tuesday, January 28, the pop sensation shared a nostalgic montage of music video clips and performances from the Anti era, set to the album’s opening track, “Consideration,” featuring SZA.
“Happy ANTIversary,” Rihanna wrote alongside the video, adding a red balloon emoji to mark the joyous occasion.
Released in 2016, Anti quickly became one of Rihanna’s most iconic albums, spawning chart-topping hits like “Work,” “Love on the Brain,” and “Kiss It Better.” The album not only debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 but also spent an impressive two weeks in the top spot, staying on the chart for an astounding 456 weeks.
Despite Anti‘s massive success, it has remained Rihanna’s last full-length album, as she shifted her focus to building her Fenty business empire. The multi-talented mogul has made a few notable musical appearances since, including the Grammy and Oscar-nominated song “Lift Me Up” for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

However, fans continue to eagerly anticipate Rihanna’s ninth studio album. Over the years, the star has teased its release several times, but no official details have emerged. In 2023, Rihanna told Interview magazine that she had “a lot of visual ideas” for the project but was still searching for the right music to bring those ideas to life.
By the end of the year, she admitted to Vogue that she had started over on the album, reflecting on her creative process. “I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears,” she said.
As fans eagerly await new music from the pop icon, Anti’s anniversary serves as a reminder of Rihanna’s lasting influence on the music industry, with her innovative approach to sound and style continuing to resonate years later.
