Pop star Rita Ora is facing a wave of objections from her neighbours after revealing plans to build a luxury garden gym at her £7.5 million Grade II-listed London home.
The 34-year-old hitmaker, best known for chart-topping songs like For You and Let You Love Me, reportedly planned to convert part of her mansion’s courtyard into a high-tech fitness space. The proposed design featured modern workout equipment, sleek interiors, and stylish glass doors to create an exclusive home gym experience.
However, the proposal has stirred controversy among locals. A group of neighbours have formally opposed the project, voicing concerns that it could disturb the peaceful residential area. Objections included worries about loud gym music, bright artificial lighting, and reduced privacy—especially if the glass doors were opened during workouts. Some even warned that the gym could lead to noise complaints, neighbour disputes, and potential legal issues.

Environmental concerns have also been raised, with residents cautioning that the construction could disturb local wildlife, including squirrels and foxes often seen in the area.
Despite the growing backlash, Rita Ora’s representatives have not issued a public response. The singer, meanwhile, remains focused on her music career. She recently recorded Joy, an uplifting track for the upcoming Netflix dating series Love Is Blind UK. The song, which celebrates happiness and new beginnings, was released as a standalone single separate from her latest album.
Whether or not the London luxury gym plans move forward, the situation has already become a notable celebrity-neighbour standoff, adding to Rita’s busy year in the spotlight.
