Sydney Sweeney has recently addressed the swirling rumors regarding her alleged covert romantic involvement with fellow actor Glen Powell. Powell is her co-star in the upcoming movie “Anyone But You.”
Featured in Variety’s latest edition of the Power of Young Hollywood issue, the Euphoria star delicately addressed the speculations, confirming that her connection with Powell is rooted solely in the prerequisites of their roles as a couple in a romantic comedy.
In conversation with the publication, she stated, “It’s a rom-com. That’s what people want!”
Sweeney further elaborated that she and Powell aren’t overly concerned about public perceptions of their relationship. She shared, “We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”
She openly disclosed that even though filming for the movie concluded several months ago, the two remain in close contact, indicating, “We talk all the time.”
The alleged off-screen affair between Sydney and Glen came into the spotlight due to a series of intimate red-carpet photoshoots and their interactions during interviews. Additional fuel was added to the fire when Powell separated from Gigi Paris in April, though a source later clarified that the split was primarily attributed to Powell’s demanding schedule.
Meanwhile, Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in reality-based productions, has been engaged to Jonathan Davino since last year. Their romantic involvement traces back to 2018.
Details about the upcoming romantic comedy “Anyone But You” remain scarce, aside from Sweeney’s revelation at CinemaCon that the narrative centers around “two people that hate each other.”
Audiences can anticipate the release of “Anyone But You” in theaters on December 15th.
