Sydney Sweeney, 28, is speaking candidly about self-confidence, privacy, and the pressures of Hollywood, sharing her journey to inspire women to embrace themselves fully.
The Euphoria and Christy star revealed to Variety that while people often label her a sex symbol, that perception doesn’t define her.
“I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t,” Sweeney said.
“So when people think, ‘Ah, she’s a sex symbol,’ or ‘She’s leaning into that,’ I’m like, ‘No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.’”
Sweeney hopes her confidence can encourage other women to embrace their bodies and feel comfortable in their own skin.

“You shouldn’t have to apologise or hide or cover up in any room,” she added.
The actress also spoke about the challenges of standing her ground in Hollywood, reminding herself daily of her own worth:
“Being an actress, it’s a lot harder to stand in the room and demand your worth. I have to remind myself like, ‘Hey, Syd, you’re actually powerful. Stand up a little taller.’”
Despite her rising fame, Sweeney emphasizes the importance of balancing public attention with privacy, aiming to let people know her as a person while keeping parts of her life peaceful.
Through her candid reflections, Sydney Sweeney encourages women to own their confidence and define themselves on their own terms, rather than letting Hollywood labels dictate who they are.
