Taylor Swift and Cynthia Erivo were seen sharing a lighthearted moment at the 2025 Grammy Awards, creating an unexpected viral moment that delighted fans.

In a clip that quickly gained traction on social media, the two stars were caught laughing and recreating the viral “holding space” meme during Trevor Noah’s monologue at the ceremony. The iconic moment, which originally gained attention during the “Wizard of Oz” prequel press tour, showed Ariana Grande silently holding Erivo’s finger after a reporter referenced the empowering lyrics of “Defying Gravity.”

Before the ceremony, seating arrangements suggested that Erivo was supposed to sit with Queen Latifah and John Legend, while Swift was placed at a table with her collaborator Jack Antonoff and his wife, Margaret Qualley. However, in a video shared by The Hollywood Reporter’s journalist, it was clear that Erivo, who arrived late, was looking for her seat. Swift, noticing her, quickly made space for her friend to sit beside her.

Erivo, a previous Grammy winner for her role in The Color Purple, attended to perform in a tribute to the late Quincy Jones. Meanwhile, Swift, despite receiving six nominations, left the ceremony empty-handed after presenting the Best Country Album award to Beyoncé.
