Taylor Swift and Jaime King, once inseparable friends, have seemingly drifted apart as King faces ongoing legal and personal challenges. The 45-year-old actress has been through a tough period, having lost custody of her two children and forced to leave her Hollywood Hills rental home following her divorce from director Kyle Newman in 2023.
Meanwhile, Taylor, who is the godmother to Jaime’s 9-year-old son, Leo, has reportedly not been in “regular contact” with King. Despite this, a source told The U.S. Sun that there is still love between the old friends, despite the physical and emotional distance that has come between them.

The source shared that Taylor, 35, continues to send gifts to her godson, Leo, and would “be there in a heartbeat” if Jaime ever needed her. “She has always taken her godmother role and duties very seriously and is the most caring and thoughtful person Jaime could’ve asked to be there for Leo,” the insider explained.
While their bond remains strong, the relationship is quite different from when Jaime asked Taylor to become Leo’s godmother. According to the source, “There is no regular contact now, and their relationship is a lot different than it was back when Jaime asked Taylor to be his godmother.”
The two first crossed paths through Jaime’s ex-husband, Kyle Newman, who directed Taylor’s 2014 “Style” music video. In 2015, Jaime asked Taylor to be Leo’s godmother, cementing their once close friendship. However, recent events and personal struggles have put a strain on their relationship, even though the love and support between them still remains.
