Taylor Swift is reportedly distancing herself from her longtime friend Blake Lively after being unexpectedly pulled into a legal dispute involving the actress and Justin Baldoni. According to sources, Swift is taking a break from their decade-long friendship after being named in Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively.
Baldoni claims that Lively involved Swift in their film It Ends With Us in an attempt to influence him into agreeing to script changes. He alleges that Swift was brought into a meeting with Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, which made him feel pressured to comply with their creative vision. However, sources close to Swift say that she was unaware of the ongoing discussions when she arrived at Lively’s New York penthouse, which left her uncomfortable being used in such a manner.

Swift, known for being conscious of her public image, was reportedly upset by being dragged into the legal matter. “She hates that she was even mentioned in the lawsuit,” a source shared.
As a result, Swift is now taking a step back from Lively, feeling the need to protect her reputation. A source close to the singer revealed that she didn’t want to get involved further in the legal drama. Swift’s friends, too, are said to have disapproved of Lively’s approach, especially her “Khaleesi” text to Baldoni, which some felt was a unnecessary use of intimidation.
In Baldoni’s countersuit, Swift is once again mentioned as Lively’s “mega-celebrity friend,” adding more pressure to the situation. Now, insiders say that Swift is focused on distancing herself to preserve her image amid the controversy.
