Bridgerton: Creator says fans have to wait two years for season 4

Bridgerton fans will have to wait two years for the release of next season, Season 4, according to showrunner Jess Brownell. Season 3, Part 2 of the popular series premieres on Netflix today, June 13, marking the final installment for the foreseeable future.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the UK premiere of Part 2, Brownell explained the delay, citing the extensive production process.

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film, then they have to be edited, then they have to be dubbed into every language,” she said.

“And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace. We’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range.”

Despite the wait, Brownell assured fans that Season 4 will be worth it, describing it as “some of her best work.”

She expressed excitement about the ongoing writing process, noting, “I’m really excited about what we’re writing. We’re towards the end with the writers’ room season, with the scripts. And I feel like it’s some of my best work and my writers’ room’s best work. We’ve just really gelled our collaboration, and we’re firing on all cylinders, so I can’t wait for fans to see what we have.”

Although Brownell did not reveal which Bridgerton sibling will lead the upcoming episodes, she hinted at the engaging content to come. “I have almost slipped up a couple of times, so keep asking and maybe I’ll slip up,” she teased.

Martins Imhangbe, who plays Will Mondrich in the series, also shared his thoughts with Digital Spy on the conclusion of Season 3, expressing confidence that fans will be pleased. “I think they will be very, very satisfied,” he said. “But also, I think they’re gonna want more. It’s great drama. It’s lovely.”

Bridgerton Seasons 1-2 and the first part of Season 3, along with the spin-off series “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” are currently streaming on Netflix. Season 3, Part 2 premieres today.
