Timothée Chalamet is leaving no stone unturned to bring Bob Dylan’s story to life in the highly anticipated biopic A Complete Unknown. Known for his commitment to his craft, the Academy Award-nominated actor set strict on-set rules to stay fully immersed in the role, according to his co-star Edward Norton.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Norton praised Chalamet’s unwavering dedication to portraying the legendary musician.
“No visitors, no friends, no reps, no nothing. ‘Nobody comes around us while we’re doing this,’” Norton shared about the 28-year-old actor’s approach. “We’re trying to do the best we can with something that’s so totemic and sacrosanct to many people.”
The Fight Club star added, “I agreed totally – it was like, we cannot have a * audience for this. We’ve got to believe to the greatest degree we can. And he was right to be that protective.”
Chalamet’s intense focus also stood out to Monica Barbaro, another co-star in the film. She observed how the Dune actor remained “in his own world” during filming. “In a way, I think Bob [Dylan] often was as well. And it was actually really conducive to the dynamic between Bob and Joan,” she explained, referring to the relationship between Dylan and Joan Baez depicted in the movie.
Directed by James Mangold, A Complete Unknown delves into Bob Dylan’s rise to fame and the evolution of his artistry. The biopic is set to hit theaters on December 25, promising a captivating portrayal of the iconic musician’s life and legacy.
With Chalamet’s intense dedication and a star-studded cast, A Complete Unknown is shaping up to be a must-watch this holiday season.
