Barton Cowperthwaite, renowned for his role in the Netflix series “Tiny Pretty Things,” has shared a poignant and personal revelation with his fans—he has been diagnosed with brain cancer.
In an emotional Instagram post, the actor candidly disclosed, “So… Yesterday I was diagnosed with at least a stage 2 Glioma. It is a fairly decent-sized brain tumor. The tumor’s cells originate in the brain, so it’s not spread from cancer anywhere else in the body.”
Undeterred by the gravity of the situation, Cowperthwaite continued, shedding light on the treatment ahead, stating, “The only course of treatment for something like this is brain surgery. Docs so far have been confident that they’ll be able to remove most of the tumor, and that after a successful operation and some rehab, I will be operating like my (amazing, talented, brilliant, hilarious) self.”
Optimistic about his recovery, Barton expressed his determination, stating, “I am planning on fully bouncing back to be better than my former glory.”
In a proactive move to garner support for his upcoming surgery, the 31-year-old actor launched a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $50,000.
The news of Barton’s health challenge prompted an outpouring of love and encouragement from friends and fans. Casimere Jollette, his co-star from “Tiny Pretty Things,” expressed heartfelt support, writing, “Love you, Bart. Sending so much healing to you. You got this.”
Fans joined in, conveying messages of strength and solidarity. One supporter wrote, “I love you, brother. Strongest MF I know; you got this.” Another shared, “Lots of love to you, brother.”
As Barton Cowperthwaite embarks on his journey to overcome brain cancer, the rallying support from those close to him and his dedicated fan base serves as a powerful testament to the strength of community and the resilience of the human spirit. The actor’s openness about his diagnosis not only sheds light on the challenges he faces but also inspires a collective spirit of hope and positivity among those touched by his story.
