Travis Kelce has taken to his podcast to set the record straight regarding a false rumor circulating about him. The 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end, known for his philanthropic efforts through his 87 & Running Foundation, was recently reported to have bought a $3.3 million house intended as temporary housing for the homeless. The claim, which spread quickly across social media, was not true, and Kelce is speaking out to clear up the confusion.
On the New Heights podcast, where he was joined by his brother Jason Kelce, Travis addressed the false rumors head-on. “I gotta make a little statement in the ‘don’t believe everything you read, kids’ category,” he said. “Some false claims were thrown out there that I was doing something in the community that I was not, and I’m not even gonna talk about it specifically. I don’t want to bring any more attention to that whole nonsense and article and all that stuff.”
Travis further clarified that anyone interested in knowing about his actual community efforts could visit his foundation’s official website, 87running.org. He emphasized, “We’re always trying to get out there in the Kansas City communities and the Cleveland community. But this time, I wasn’t doing what was falsely claimed by the social channels or the outlets posting all this A.I. stuff. So, just wanted to set the record straight.”
As the conversation progressed, Travis also expressed his gratitude to his supporters: “Appreciate everybody for always trying to show love.”
This clarification comes at a time when Travis is focusing on his football career. After the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIX loss in February, an insider revealed that Travis is taking a step back from the public spotlight. “He wants to take a breather from the public eye,” the insider said, adding that the player feels he worked too much last year and didn’t perform as well as he hoped. “He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor,” the insider explained.
Travis’s comments have not only addressed the false rumors about his community involvement but also highlighted his desire to concentrate on his career and personal life, showing his commitment to both his work on the field and his charitable efforts.
