Usher’s name has emerged in recent court testimony related to disturbing allegations against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. According to People magazine, Dawn Richard, the singer from Danity Kane, testified that she witnessed Combs physically assault Cassie Ventura during a 2010 dinner event attended by several celebrities, including Usher.
Richard, who has also accused Combs of sexual abuse, described the incident where Combs punched Cassie in the stomach at a restaurant while they were arguing quietly. “She immediately bent over, he told her to leave,” Richard recalled during her May 19 testimony. “No one intervened.”

Among those reportedly present at the time were Usher, Ne-Yo, Jimmy Iovine, and other unnamed high-profile figures.
The testimony also detailed a subsequent violent episode inside a car, where Combs allegedly grabbed Cassie by the neck, slapped her, and told her to “Shut the f**k up.” Richard said Combs asserted ownership over Cassie, leaving her visibly fearful.
While Usher, 45, has not been accused of any misconduct, his longtime association with Diddy is facing renewed attention amid these allegations. Usher previously revealed on The Howard Stern Show that he witnessed “pretty wild” behavior while living with Combs as a teenager at the infamous “Puffy Flavor Camp,” and has since said he would never send his own children there.
Notably, Usher’s name also appeared in Cassie Ventura’s 2023 sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy, further linking the R&B star to the ongoing legal saga.
