Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate. In a statement released by the Palace, it was disclosed that the monarch is now back home and has rearranged his upcoming public commitments to allow for a period of private recuperation.
“The King was discharged from the hospital this afternoon following planned medical treatment and has rescheduled forthcoming public engagements to facilitate a period of private recuperation,” the statement read.
Expressing gratitude, the Palace conveyed the King’s appreciation to the medical team and all individuals involved in supporting his hospital stay, while also acknowledging the kind messages received in recent days.
This significant development follows Charles’s admission to The London Clinic, the same medical facility where his daughter-in-law, Princess Kate Middleton, underwent a “planned abdominal surgery” just 13 days prior.
In tandem with the King’s discharge, Princess Kate, the Princess of Wales, has also returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery. Kensington Palace provided an update stating, “The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.”
The statement from Kensington Palace also expressed the Wales family’s gratitude for the worldwide well wishes received during this challenging time.
As both royal figures navigate their respective recovery journeys, the public eagerly anticipates their return to full health. The parallel nature of these recoveries underscores the resilience and strength within the royal family during moments of personal health challenges.
