In a recent discussion on GB News, royal expert and author Gareth Russell shed light on the impact of Scobie’s explosive book, stating that it “came at quite a bad time for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.”
Referring to a Hollywood Reporter article that labeled Harry and Meghan as “the two biggest losers in Hollywood,” Russell underscored the negative consequences of such portrayals on their prestige. He emphasized that being branded as prominent losers in the showbiz industry in 2023 could adversely affect their ability to generate interest, support, and donations for their organization, Archewell, closely linked to the celebrity world.
Russell suggested that it would have been in the couple’s best interest to shift away from the narrative presented in Endgame. He observed that the only time they prominently feature in headlines is when they directly or indirectly criticize the Royal Family, a strategy that, according to him, is not effectively generating public sympathy.
Despite having previously garnered public sympathy and immense interest, Russell noted that the current public sentiment seems different, and the level of public interest in the couple is not as high as before.
