Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s aspirations for a triumphant return to Hollywood have encountered a significant hurdle with the release of “Endgame,” which has overshadowed their positive press just ahead of their much-anticipated relaunch.
Royal editor Matt Wilkinson, speaking on The Royal Beat, disclosed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had diligently strategized their comeback. However, their prospects took an unforeseen hit with the unfavorable publicity surrounding the release of Omid Scobie’s book.
Wilkinson expressed that the couple was on the verge of distancing themselves from the narrative of capitalizing on their grievances against the royal family. Unfortunately, the revelation of King Charles and Kate Middleton being identified as royal figures with racist inclinations had a substantial impact on their carefully laid plans.
“I thought they were doing really well keeping out of negative headlines…but Endgame blew that all out of the water, and then all the negative headlines went back on to them. I think they are going in the right direction. They are trying to market Meghan as a California girl, and I think they just need to carry on down that kinder, gentler route, not having rows with the Royal Family and just enjoying their life in California. They were on their way to doing that until the two names came out in Endgame, and that blew things apart,” explained Wilkinson.
The couple had been steering their public image towards a more positive and harmonious narrative, with Meghan being portrayed as a “California girl.” However, the revelations in “Endgame” have prompted a reassessment of their strategy, highlighting the challenges they face in navigating their public image amid ongoing tensions with the Royal Family. As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recalibrate their course, the Hollywood comeback they envisioned appears to have encountered a formidable roadblock.
