Prince Harry will not be meeting his father, King Charles, while the Duke is in the UK for Invictus Games 10th anniversary on Wednesday.
Harry’s spokesperson has confirmed: “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
The reason behind the canceled meeting seems to be Queen Camilla, according to a source cited by Daily Express.
“Harry is of course extremely disappointed that he hasn’t been granted a meeting with his father this time,” the source said.
“It’s even harder to wrap your head around when you consider that the pair will be in the same city, at the same time and just a stone’s throw away from each other.”
Prince Harry is currently at St. Paul’s Cathedral which is just down the road from Buckingham Palace, where the monarch will be having a Garden Party.
The insiders revealed that the reason the Sussex camp and the Palace were working on a way to arrange a meeting but a conflict arose that Queen Camilla would also be alongside Charles when the meeting takes place.
Commenting on the latest outcome, Angela Levin, the major critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has also voiced her views.
The royal author tweeted, “It could be a good idea if Harry asks his father what date and time would suit him for them to meet rather than leave plans to the last moment and then expect The King to drop everything.”
The last time, Prince Harry visited King Charles face to face was in February 2024 following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is also scheduled to give a reading at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
According to the GB News, no senior member of the Royal Family is expected to attend the Invictus Games event.
