Prince Harry, Meghan Markle seemingly decline Christmas invite from family after terrifying incident

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seemingly made a poignant decision about their Christmas plans this year as they declined a major invite.

Amid the ongoing speculations about whether there will be some sort of reconciliation between the Sussexes and the royal family, the pair have already made up their mind about Christmas in the UK this year.

A source revealed that Harry and Meghan have declined an invite extended to the couple from their beloved family in the UK.

“They were invited to spend Christmas with the Spencers at Althorp, but had to turn it down,” the insider told Closer magazine.

The invite came after Harry had stayed with mother Princess Diana’s family to attend a funeral of his uncle.

There hasn’t been an invitation extended to join the royal family at Sandringham this year. It’s not surprising as they didn’t expect an invite, and even if one had been offered, they would likely decline.

Harry and Meghan are hoping that their children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, have a “joyful” at home even if they are not surrounded by their extended family.

The update comes after Windsor Castle was raided by two masked men and robbed two farm vehicles from the property. The break-in took place from the gate near Prince William’s Adelaide Cottage as his family – Kate Middleton and their three children slept – on Sunday night.

The incident also is a realization of Harry’s worst fears that he has had about security at royal residences. In the past, Harry has stayed at hotels during his UK visits as Palace would be “without appropriate ‘security provision’, it would be safer to stay at an anonymous hotel,” royal biographer Robert Hardman revealed in his book.

Harry has also been vocal about how he would not travel with his family to the UK until his security issues are resolved.

Harry previously told ITV in an interview:

It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor… whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me.

Prince Harry is set to take his case against the UK Home Office for his right to pay for security in January 2025.
