7 Massive Lies Society Has Brainwashed You With

Do you ever feel like the world around you is feeding you a bunch of lies? From the moment we’re born, society bombards us with messages about what is right and wrong, true and false. But what if some of these messages are actually massive lies that we’ve been brainwashed with?

In this article, we’re going to expose 7 commonly held beliefs that might not be as true as we’ve been led to believe. So get ready to challenge the status quo and discover the truth about the world around us!

  1. Gender is binary: We are taught that gender is a binary, with individuals falling into one of two categories: male or female. But this rigid categorization ignores the reality that gender is a complex social construct that includes many different identities, expressions, and experiences. Non-binary individuals exist, and they deserve to be recognized and respected for who they are.
  2. Success requires sacrifice: Society often tells us that achieving success requires giving up other important aspects of our lives, such as personal relationships or hobbies. But this is a false dichotomy. Success can be achieved through balance and prioritization, and sacrificing important parts of life is not always necessary.
  3. Money can buy happiness: We’re often told that if we work hard and accumulate wealth, we’ll be happy. But studies have shown that while financial security can contribute to overall life satisfaction and well-being, money cannot guarantee happiness. There are many other factors, such as relationships and personal fulfillment, that contribute to happiness.
  4. Hard work always pays off: While hard work is undoubtedly essential for success, it’s not a guarantee of success. Luck and opportunity also play significant roles in determining one’s success.
  5. Beauty is objective: Society often tells us that there are objective standards of beauty that can be applied to all individuals. But beauty is subjective and can vary widely depending on cultural, historical, and individual perspectives. We should celebrate and appreciate the unique beauty in everyone.
  6. Mental illness is a personal failing: Society often stigmatizes individuals with mental illnesses, suggesting that it’s a result of personal weakness or moral failing. But mental illness is a complex condition that can be influenced by a variety of factors, including genetics, environment, and life experiences. We should treat mental illness with compassion and empathy, not judgment and shame.
  7. You only use 10% of your brain: We’ve all heard the myth that humans only use 10% of their brains, leaving vast untapped potential. In reality, modern neuroscience has shown that people use their entire brains, and that different areas of the brain are responsible for different functions.

we should question the “truths” we’ve been taught and challenge the lies that society has brainwashed us with. By doing so, we can create a more compassionate, inclusive, and just society.
