Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine vowed on Friday, to victory against Russia on the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in commemorations, which were held by Kyiv’s Western allies.

He hailed cities that have become victims of alleged Russian war crimes like Bucha, Irpin, and Mariupol as “capitals of invincibility.”
We will never rest until the Russian murderers face deserved punishment.”

Back in February 2022, Russia invade Ukraine by following the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin of sending troops to the neighbor. Putin’s order was seen as punishment for Kyiv’s pivot to the West.
A year-long conflict demolishes a big part of Ukraine, while some areas have been captured by Russia. Millions of people were displaced from Ukraine, while Russia become a “Pariah” in the West. According to Western sources, the war caused 150,000 casualties on each side.
Western countries have set strict sanctions on Russia and ramped up humanitarian aid and arms supplies for Ukraine. The United States and its G7 allies planned to unveil new sanctions, and declare on Russia. Jake Sullivan, the U.S. National Security Advisor said Washington would send Ukraine a new military aid package worth $2 billion.
On Thursday, the United Nations voted overwhelmingly to demand Russia “immediately” and “unconditionally” withdraw its troops from Ukraine.
According to a recent Ukrainian poll, 17% of respondents said they had lost a loved one in the war. Around 95% of Ukrainians say they are confident of Kyiv’s victory.
