On Wednesday, Dmytro Kuleba, the foreign minister of Ukraine said that Ukraine plans to invest considerable political capital to heighten relations with African nations, in a bid to oppose Russia’s impact on the continent.
We are starting from the bottom in the African continent. African nations need long-term and organized work. It’s not something that happens in few days, Kuleba added in an interview with Agence French Presse
Kuleba compared Ukraine’s effort to strengthen relations with the African government with a diplomatic “counterattack” against Moscow steps.
Kyiv will free the African continent from Moscow’s grip rather than replace it, he added, Kyiv wanted to approach those diplomatic relations with respect and with the principle of mutual advantage.
The foreign minister said that Moscow is trying to uphold nations in its orbit through force, bribery, and fear.
Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, expressed worries about food protection in the African continent is groundless, given Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea grain accord last month, Kuleba added. He added that African People noticed that Putin’s tales about how he worries about African nations are nothing but lies.
