On Thursday U.S President Joe Biden that the United States has no indication that the three objects shot down in North American air space were not related to the Chinese balloon programme and are likely from private entities.
Biden said in his first formal remarks on the objects shot from the sky last weekend over Canada and the US.
He added “We don’t have any evidence that there have been a sudden increase of objects in the sky , We are just seeing more of them partially because of the steps we have taken to narrow our radars and we have to keep adapting our approach to dealing with these challenges.”
President also said, “As the events of the previous days have shown, we’ll always act to protect the interests of the American people and the security of the American people. Since I came to office, we’ve developed the ability to identify, track, and study high altitude surveillance balloons connected with the Chinese military.”
Joe Biden address the matter four days after the last known object was shot down comes after the president faced increasing pressure in Washington to be more transparent about the situation and his decision.
However, Biden sharply criticized China’s surveillance program, saying the shootdown sent a “clear message, the violation of our sovereignty is unacceptable,” but said he looks to maintain open lines of communication with Beijing.
