US President Joe Biden and his apparently only Republican challenger Donald Trump will hold their first 2024 election debate on CNN in Atlanta on June 27, the network said Wednesday.
Biden said in X, I’ve received and accepted an invitation from CNN for a debate on June 27th. Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place.
“To ensure candidates may maximize the time allotted in the debate, no audience will be present,” CNN said in a statement announcing the clash, just hours after Biden officially challenged Trump to two debates in June and September.
Republican Donald Trump accepted President Joe Biden’s challenge Wednesday to hold two debates ahead of the election.
“I am Ready and Willing,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social app. “Let’s get ready to Rumble!!!”
