On Thursday, Donald Trump, the former president of the US, returned to X (formerly known as Twitter) and posted his mugshot shortly after Georgia’s surrender over charges linked to his apparent actions to overturn the 2020 election results.
He posted his mugshot on his return to social media platform X, and a few words “Election interference. Never surrender!” along with a link to his fundraising page website.
The recent post was his first post since Jan. 8, 2021, after his account was suspended by Twitter indefinitely, mentioning worries he would incite additional roughness following the deadly storming of the U.S. Capitol building. Last November, Elon Musk reinstated Trump’s account shortly after the billionaire purchased the company.
But the former US President had withheld from tweeting, urging that he was more comfortable on his own Truth Social site, which he established during the ban.
Over the last few months, Trump has criminal charges in four different cases, but the most current booking was the first and only time his mugshot was taken.
Rolling Stone reported at the beginning of this year, that Trump didn’t want to revive his contract with Truth Social that was set to expire in June.
Even yet, Trump first shared his mugshot on Truth Social earlier on Thursday evening. Before that, he appeared in a video interview with Tucker Carlson on platform X.
Last year, Musk asked Twitter users through a poll if he should reinstate Trump’s account.
There were about 15 million replies, with 51.8 percent saying YES and 48.2 percent saying NO. But Trump refused to make his return to Twitter.
