Joe Biden forgets the recent trip to Ireland he made earlier this month

As US President Joe Biden welcomed a group of kids to the White House on ‘Take Your Child to Work Day’, the children were able to see a glimpse of the president’s daily life. But, a few verbal stumbles marked Joe Biden’s efforts to interact with the children.

During his presentation, Joe Biden failed to recall the name of the country he last visited. “The last country I’ve traveled to, I’m thinking, what’s the last one I was in?” Joe Biden said. “I’ve been to … I’ve met with 89 heads of state so far, so I’m trying to think where was the last place I was? It’s hard to keep track.” A child quickly said, “Ireland!”.

“Yeah, you’re right. Ireland. That’s where it was,” Joe Biden was heard saying in a video widely shared on social media as the crowd laughed.

Joe Biden also struggled to remember how many grandchildren he has when a girl asked him where his grandsons and granddaughters were. He listed five grandchildren despite being the grandfather of six.

“I left somebody out, didn’t I,” Joe Biden said as a child reminded him that he had only listed five of his grandchildren. “I don’t know,” Joe Biden said. “You’re confusing me. But they’re all around.”

This comes as Joe Biden announced that he will be seeking reelection to the post of US President. Joe Biden is already the oldest president in US history. If he wins in 2024, he would be 86 at the end of his second term.
