On Thursday, the US Defense Department revealed an official website that’s planned to act as a clearinghouse for publicizing details about unidentified aerial phenomena.
The website, which will be publicly available to serve records about UFOs, is hoped to analyze the work of an office Congress formed last year that corresponds steps across federal agencies to catch and recognize what the Pentagon officially refers to as unidentified anomalous phenomena.
Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, said at a news conference on Thursday that the unveiling of the website is the next effort in this approach, in terms of assuring that the people have knowledge and understanding of UAPs and so what you notice today is what has been declassified to date.
For now, the website contains just a few videos, some labeled “unresolved” or “unclassified,” with short descriptions delivering illustrations of inspections by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, which the National Defense Authorization Act established last year.
The site also contains sections labeled as “Coming Soon.”
The new website can be accessed at aaro.mil
The Pentagon said in a news release that the site will accommodate pictures and videos about resolved UAP cases as they are declassified and authorized for public release.
The site will also include links to approved reports, transcripts, and other resources like aircraft, balloon, and satellite tracking sites.
Ryder said that the Pentagon also intends to update the site to contain a device allowing present and ex-U.S. government employees, service members, and contractors to deliver reports via private and protected standards.
He added that the department is dedicated to clarity with the US citizens on AARO’s work on UAPs, adding that the office inspects the facts and, “when possible,” declassifies the data to make it available for public.
