Trevian Kutti, a prominent figure in the Trump Georgia case, has garnered attention due to allegations surrounding her alleged role in pressuring election worker Ruby Freeman.
The indictment against former US President Donald Trump and 18 others has brought forward charges against Kutti, along with Harrison Floyd and Stephen Lee. These charges revolve around their involvement in a scheme related to harassing election workers, as revealed through reports by Reuters in both 2021 and 2022.
The indictment provides insights into Kutti’s purported part in the situation. She was reportedly recruited by Harrison Floyd, the leader of Black Voices for Donald Trump, to travel from Chicago to Atlanta. Once there, she allegedly took on the responsibility of contacting Freeman. Under the guise of a “crisis manager,” Trevian Kutti is accused of attempting to manipulate Freeman’s testimony concerning the 2020 presidential election.
While Kutti asserts that her intention was to extend protection to Freeman, the allegation contends that she urged Freeman to falsely confess to voter fraud—a narrative that gained traction following Trump’s loss to Joe Biden. During their meeting, Kutti is said to have conveyed a message implying that Freeman had a mere 48 hours to make the fabricated confession, insinuating grave repercussions for non-compliance.
The purported involvement of Trevian Kutti has sparked reactions from her inner circle. In December 2021, she took to Instagram to dispute the reports, emphasizing that her past association with Kanye West should not be unfairly tied to Donald Trump. However, the accuracy of her statements remains uncertain.
The indictment also implicates Harrison Floyd and Stephen Lee. Allegedly, they contacted Freeman multiple times on January 3, 2021, and engaged in correspondence with each other. Consequently, the trio is now facing charges linked to soliciting false statements and exerting influence on witnesses. Their alleged intent was to sway Freeman’s testimony in favor of Trump, compelling her to falsely admit to election fraud.
CBS News has approached Kutti for comment on the charges. The allegations surrounding Kutti and her co-defendants underscore the intricate web of interactions that contribute to the broader narrative of the Trump Georgia case. As these developments unfold, the spotlight remains on the unfolding legal proceedings and their implications.
