The United States does not promote or support Ukraine drone attacks inside Russia, a spokesperson for the US state department said after authorities of Moscow said they shot down Kyiv drones that attempted to attack the Russian capital earlier on Wednesday.
The spokesperson of the US State Department said that it’s now up to Ukraine to determine how it decides to protect itself from the Russian invasion. He added that Moscow could conclude the battle at any time by removing troops from Kyiv.
Ukrainian drone attacks inside Russia have expanded since two person-less aircraft were downed over the Kremlin earlier in May. Aircraft attacks on Moscow have become increasingly common in recent months.
Washington, which has supported Kyiv with tremendous aid in the form of arms and other military equipment to battle the Moscow invasion, has said that it doesn’t support Ukraine’s drone attacks inside Russia.
Russian air defense shot down three drones that attempted to attack inside Russia, the Russian defense ministry said on Wednesday.
However, Ukraine doesn’t comment on who is behind drone attacks on Russian territory but it seems to have stepped up such attacks since two drones were downed over the Kremlin in early May.
