On Wednesday, Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, invited Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, to his isolated country during their conversations in Russia, Pyongyang’s state media KCNA reported on Thursday, adding Russia accepted the invitation.
KCNA reported that Kim told Putin the meeting in Russia’s Far East carried bilateral links to a new level and voiced his readiness to foster stable, future-oriented associations for the next 100 years.
The report added that both sides decided to bolster strategic and tactical collaboration in the face of the “military threats, provocations and dictatorship of imperialists.
North Korea’s leader Kim reported on technical details about Russian space vehicles during his visit to a cosmodrome, but there was no mention of any weapons supplies, trade of arms, or technical aid over weapons programs.
US and South Korean officials have voiced consideration that Kim could supply weapons and ammunition to Moscow, which has spent extensive stocks in more than 18 months of battle in Ukraine. Russia and North Korea have declined such intentions.
On Wednesday, Putin offered considerable indications that military cooperation was concerned but revealed few details. Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu attended the discussions. The Kremlin said sensitive conversations between neighbors were a secret matter.
