Some countries ignore North Korea’s unlawful behavior: South Korean minister

During the Asian security summit, the South Korean defense minister said that certain nations ignored North Korea’s criminal acts, which he said risks weakening UN boycotts against its missile and nuclear programs.

While both China And Russia overlooked the US call for the UN Security Council to denounce the act of North Korea for an attempt to launch a spy satellite but instead of condemning the act, both associated countries blamed Washington for increasing tension on the Korean peninsula.

This creates holes in sanctions against North Korea passed at the UN Security Council.

Choosing inactivity to North Korea’s unlawful behavior will worsen the security of not only the Korean peninsula, in the Pacific region but also the entire world.”

Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup said in a speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Asia’s top security summit.

Lee acknowledged the significance of trilateral security coordination with the Washington and Tokyo to prevent Pyongyang.

While the United States, Japan, and South Korea also seek to share missile warning data of North Korea before the end of the current year, 2023
