Australian police find “nuclear isotopes” in a home raid

On Thursday, Australian police raided a home in the south of Sydney and discovered what local media defined as “nuclear isotopes”.

The home was the target of the Australian police raid and remains shut off with tape warning of a harmful, nuclear, or biological threat inside.

The small brown-brick apartment building was cut off from the road by red and yellow tape saying: “Contaminated area – do not enter – hot zone.”

Uranium and mercury isotopes were found inside the home, Channel 10, a local commercial broadcaster reported.

Australian police had found nuclear isotopes inside the home, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The Australian Border Force would not confirm reports about the existence of radioactive material near or at the home.

A spokesperson for a border force said in a statement that the Australian Border Force can confirm it is operating an operation today in Arncliffe, New South Wales, with the support of… emergency services. All proper security efforts are being implemented, he added.

Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) will continue to help relevant state and federal agencies in the continued management and resolution of the condition, a spokesperson said.
