On Tuesday, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, defined legal proceedings against Donald Trump, former US president, as “politically motivated persecution.”
The Kremlin noticed as having close links with Trump, has often voiced out in defense of the former president, who is encountering a series of charges related to election interference.
At an economic forum in the Far East, Putin said that as for the persecution of Trump, for us, in the present environment, it’s good because it displays the rottenness of the American system. It is a politically motivated persecution of one’s rival.
The Russian leader added: “And this shows who we are battling … As they said in Soviet times: ‘the bestial face of American capitalism.’”
Links between the United States and Russia, weakened by a litany of problems under Putin, have smashed new lows since the Kremlin established large-scale combativeness in Ukraine.
“I did not see any modification in the stance of US foreign policy towards Russia regardless of “whoever will be elected president” next year”, Putin said.
The President of Russia blamed the US for fueling anti-Russian feelings among ordinary US residents.
Putin said that current authorities have run the US society in an anti-Russian spirit.
“Current authorities have run the US society in an anti-Russian spirit,” the Russian leader said. They’ve done it and now somehow rotating this ship in the other direction will be very challenging, he added.
