As reported by the German magazine Der Spiegel on Friday that Moscow is in talks with a Chinese drone maker company to supply self-explosive drones that could be deployed in Ukraine. The magazine cited that information and said we have seen information that indicates that Russia’s military is negotiating with Chinese drone manufacturer Xi’an Bingo Intelligent Aviation Technology to produce such drones for Moscow on a large scale.
The magazine report said, The Chinese manufacturer of drones has agreed to build and test 100 ZT-180 prototype drones before delivering them to Russia by April 2023. While each self-explosive drone is capable to carry 35-50 kilograms of explosives. But not only Chinese drone company will deliver drones but to tell them the technique and procedure of producing a drone so Moscow can able to produce 100 drones a month.
When Spiegel contacted the Chinese foreign minister, he denied supplying any armament to Russia but did not address the specific allegation on drones. But it underlined that along with the US, NATO is the biggest source of the weapon for Ukraine against Russia.
While on Sunday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused that China was “considering providing lethal support” to Moscow ranging “from ammunition to the weapons themselves.”
Not only self-explosives drones but China is also planning to deliver replacement parts for Russia’s SU-27 fighter jets. According to the magazine report, false documents to make the parts for military aircraft appear to be replacement parts for civilian aviation, have already been made.
In a response to the report, a contractor for Xi’an Bingo told VICE World News the drone maker had no business relationships with Russia. The company declined to comment any further and said it would only accept interviews from domestic media outlets.
