On Saturday, Russia’s forces downed 20 Ukrainian drones, that were launched onto the Crimean Peninsula, the Russian defense ministry said.
Through Telegram, the Moscow ministry added that there were no deaths and damage reported as an outcome of the attempted attack. It added that 14 Ukrainian drones were destroyed by the Russian air defense system, while six were down by electronic warfare.
While it is not clear yet what was the target of drones on the Crimean peninsula.
Sergei Kryuchkov, an adviser to the governor of Crimea, said earlier that Russian air defense systems were occupied in repelling ait attacks in various parts of the Crimean peninsula.
The traffic on the Crimea’s bridge, which connected the Black Sea peninsula with Krasnodar, the Russian region, was discontinued for almost two hours.
