Sergei Sobyanin, Moscow mayor said on Telegram said without mentioning the name of an attacker.
Sobyanin added that one of the two drones was shot down in the area of Domodedovo on the southern outskirts of Russia’s capital, while the second one was downed in the Minsk highway area. While till now, there are no details about victims of the fall of the wreckage, he added.
According to Russian officials that the strikes are at least the third attack on the Russian capital within a week, with Ukrainian drones shot down on Sunday and Monday.
Russia’s capital was rarely targeted throughout the dispute in Kyiv until several attacks this year.
On Thursday, the Russian defense ministry said that it had shot down seven drones over the region of Kaluga, less than 200 kilometers (124 miles) from Moscow’s southwest.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of the war-torn country Ukraine forewarned on July 30 that “war” was coming to Moscow, with Russia’s “symbolic centers and military bases” becoming targets.
