Earlier on Monday Russian air-defense forces intercepted Ukraine’s drone that was believed to attack on Moscow, Russian defense ministry said, adding that two Ukrainian drones were thwarted and eliminated.
Sergei Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow said on his Telelgram that two non-residential buildings in Moscow were hit by Ukraine’s drones at around 4 a.m.
There was no severe damage or injuries, Sobyanin said.
Pieces of Ukraine’s drone were found in central Moscow, almost 2 kilometers away from the main building of the Defense Ministry, reported by Russia’s state news agencies.
A Reuters witness heard two blasts before a Russian agency found leftovers of Ukraine’s drones.
The Russian news agency stated that Komsomolsky Avenue from the center of Moscow towards the city’s outskirts was closed.
Residents of Moscow’s Southwest and South also reported of heard the burst before the report confirmed the explosions of Ukraine’s drones, Russian Telegram channels reported.
