On Thursday, Ukraine forces claimed victory on the southeastern front where they released one settlement the previous day. On Wednesday, Kyiv announced the reclaim of the village of Urozhaine from Russian armies in the southeast.
Since July 27, Urozhaine, on the border of the Donetsk region, is the first village Ukraine says it has recaptured, a symbol of the challenge Ukraine encounters moving through heavily mined Russian defensive strings without effective air support.
Andriy Kovaliov, the military spokesman told in the direction south of Urozhaine they (Ukraine’s armies) had a victory
He provided no more details.
Ukraine’s counterstrike is moving slower than it wanted because of extensive Russian minefields and prepared Russian defensive strings, Kyiv said.
Russia holds nearly a fifth of Ukraine, including the Crimean Peninsula, most of the Luhansk region, and big tracts of the regions of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.
