On Tuesday, Stian Jenssen, NATO Chief of Staff suggested Ukraine to ceding some territory to Russia in exchange of gain NATO membership, which may end the prolonged war.
Jensen said that he believe a probable solution to end the war is that Ukraine could cede some of its territories in a swap for membership in NATO, according to the Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang.
Kyiv should determine when and under what circumstances it wants to negotiate, he emphasized.
When NATO’s Chief of Staff was asked that is it NATO’s opinion for Kyiv to achieve peace with Moscow and get membership in NATO, he replied that the questions about ceding Ukraine’s territory to Russia are raised by others in the past. However, I am not saying that it will be the exact solution to end the war, but it could be, he added.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine has often emphasized that Kyiv was not keen to cede its territory to Moscow in exchange for ending the battle.
