On Monday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that Russia may announce a new surge of “forced” mobilization soon due to “catastrophic losses.”
The General Staff wrote in a statement that in link with the disastrous casualties of the occupiers, it is predicted that mass forced mobilization of the people will start in the future in the Russian Federation and in the regions of Ukraine temporarily occupied by it.
It added that according to varying estimations, the mobilization can range from 400,000 to 700,000 individuals.
The General staff emphasized that it should be cited that it is also intended to call up about 40,000 citizens of the Chechen Republic, who will likely be used as ‘blocking units’ behind the Russian armies.
While it cited that among the population of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the numbers of intentional mobilization again remain minimal.
On Sunday, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence reported that Russia has gathered over 420,000 troops in the occupied Ukrainian regions and on the Crimean Peninsula.
Vadym Skibitskyi said, Deputy Chief of the DIU, that’s apart from the Russian National Guard, other bodies, special units, and the Russian security forces that help the occupying strength in our regions.
Moscow has a very powerful delegation in Ukraine, which contains countless tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, multiple-launch rocket systems, and missile systems, Skibitskyi emphasized.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of Ukraine’s army reported on Sunday that the total battle casualties of Russian troops since the start of the invasion amounted to 269,120 military personnel, 8,771 armored combat vehicles, 4,564 tanks, 5,833 artillery systems, 763 multiple-launch rocket systems, 510 air defense systems, 315 fixed-wing aircraft, 316 helicopters, 4,598 tactical drones, 1,455 cruise missiles, 8,378 vehicles and tankers and 19 ships and boats.
