In a devoted event on the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland, the Russian minister highlighted that the Russian Armed Forces now have the responsibility to serve as a pledge of national security and development.
Our servicemen and officers are defending what our grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought for. For them, the welfare and security of the homeland has always been the highest meaning of life.”

Speaking at an event, Shoigu also praised the military operations carried out by Russian troops. He praised those who “put their lives at risk” in the fulfillment of their “military duty”. This condemnation has not been done for the first time by Russia. But Russian President Vladimir Putin had also denounced that the West is trying to destroy Russia by backing-up Ukraine.
