On Wednesday, Turkey closed the active Dardanelle Strait for a second day to aid firefighters in filling up with water and dousing flames near the visitor town of Canakkale.
On Tuesday, Emergency responders said they had created improvement by having a patchwork of fires that wrapped the edge of the famous seaside vacation destination with dark rolling clouds of smoke.
Ibrahim Yumakli, the Agriculture and Forestry Minister said that it’s better today than yesterday. He added that our friends prevented the fire from growing. If there’s no wind, we will see the image more apparently in the afternoon, he added.
The flames had provoked the eviction of 1,251 people and noticed 48 seek hospital treatment for smoke inhalation, the official said.
The fire also shut down a university campus and caused doctors to discharge some patients from a hospital as protection.
The strait also controlled grain ships that Ukraine sent before Russia dragged out of the wartime deal last month.
Those flames burned more than 200,000 hectares (nearly 50,000 acres) of pine forest and killed at least nine.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey came under criticism for his response to the tragedy at the time.
