Indian Missile Strikes Hit Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, and Kotli
The situation escalated after India launched missile attacks on Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, and Kotli, three locations deep within Pakistani territory. According to Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), these strikes were conducted from within Indian airspace.
“This is a cowardly and shameful act. Indian aircraft never entered Pakistan’s airspace,” said the military spokesperson, adding that “Pakistan will respond at a time and place of its choosing.”
Explosions in Muzaffarabad and Regional Blackout
Just after midnight, powerful explosions were reported in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, plunging the region into darkness due to a massive power outage. Witnesses described the blasts as intense, shaking the mountainous area and causing fear among local residents.
Pakistan’s military is currently assessing the full extent of the damage caused by the Indian attacks and has promised to release further details in due course.
Conflict Triggered by Pahalgam Attack in IIOJK
Tensions surged following a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The attack killed 26 tourists, including one Nepali national. India quickly blamed Pakistan for the incident, despite offering no concrete evidence.
