Donald Trump Eager to Meet King Charles During UK State Visit: “He Loves It There”

As Donald Trump prepares for his return to the White House, the former business tycoon is eagerly anticipating his state visit to the UK. Having previously expressed his admiration for the British Royal Family, Trump is particularly excited about the opportunity to meet King Charles during his upcoming visit.

Royal editor Rhiannon Mills and former photographer Arthur Edwards shared their insights with The Sun, revealing Trump’s affection for the UK and his ties to the country. “He loves it here, he admired our late Queen, and often mentioned his Scottish heritage,” Mills explained. “He also owns a couple of golf courses in the UK, so he’s definitely connected to the country.”

Mills went on to discuss the significance of state visits, explaining that they are regarded as the highest diplomatic honor the UK can extend to a visiting leader. “State visits are seen as the biggest diplomatic pat on the back that the UK can give to anyone,” Mills said. “So I believe that once Trump is inaugurated, discussions will start about when he’ll make his official visit to the UK.”

The Royal Family plays a vital role in strengthening diplomatic ties, and Mills emphasized that Trump’s rapport with the then-Prince Charles shows the importance of respecting the office, not the individual. “Despite their differing views, Trump seemed to get along well with Prince Charles. It’s about the office, not the person holding it.”

Edwards further added, “Trump was elected, and as a guest of the UK, we must extend him a welcome. There will likely be protests, but that’s part of living in a free society where people can voice their opinions. In countries like Russia, such protests could land people in prison. We are fortunate to live in a country where freedom of expression is protected.”

As the US prepares for a new presidential term, all eyes will be on Trump’s upcoming state visit, which is set to be a significant moment in US-UK relations.
